You can help preserve one of Sheffield's greatest historical treasures - the Sheffield Village Hall.
Please email us at info@savethehall.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Without restoration and preservation, the Village Hall will continue to deteriorate and will inevitably be torn down at significant cost to the Village. The Village Hall is the single most important historical building in Sheffield.
Our concept is to provide an attractive, functional environment dedicated to enhancing the community and a focused on education for both our youth and the local workforce. We hope to showcase innovations in energy and agriculture which are themes consistent with Sheffield’s historical roots and the current local economy. It will offer exhibit space, education space, event space, conference space, and outdoor space for farmers' markets and other people-friendly types of events and venues(e.g. flea market, craft market, concerts, and the arts).
The concept is fluid and undoubtedly will adapt as we gain feedback from the Community and develop an operating model for the Hall that is financially sustainable. FEEDBACK IS WELCOMED!

Through a combination of private donations, corporate donations, grants and available tax incentives/credits.
Here is the timeline SVHA presented to the Sheffield Village Board in late 2023:
Phase I: Achieve Feasibility, Consensus and Organizational Readiness (1 Year)
· Phase I has been completed and we are commencing Phase II
Phase II: Assemble Financing & Funding Package (Estimated Duration = (1-2 years)
Phase III: Restoration and Renovation (Estimated Duration = 2-3 years. As of today (February 2025) we are on schedule with the above timeline so the answer is 3 to 5 years.
Our plan currently contemplates no funding from the Village of Sheffield beyond what is currently being funded for repairs and maintenance until the project is completed. Ultimately, if the Hall can be renovated and repurposed, we expect the Village will avoid the significant cost of demolishing the building.
