You can help preserve one of Sheffield's greatest historical treasures - the Sheffield Village Hall.
Introducing the Sheffield Village Hall Alliance!
Founded in November 2023, the Sheffield Village Hall Alliance (SVHA) stands as a beacon of hope for our community's cherished landmark, Sheffield Village Hall. Our mission is clear: to spearhead an initiative for the restoration and repurposing of this historic gem.
Our mission drives us: with steadfast dedication and consistent effort, we are committed to restoring and repurposing Sheffield Village Hall, a cherished community landmark.
We've been engaged in meaningful discussions with key stakeholders such as the Sheffield Village Board and Sheffield Historical Society. These collaborations have shaped our approach, ensuring our goals align with the community’s needs and helping us secure the essential support for our cause.
With meticulous planning and attention to detail, we've engaged an expert architect to assess the Hall's structural integrity and craft a visionary blueprint for its future.
Financial hurdles? We're tackling those head-on, consulting with a seasoned Financial Advisor to explore avenues like specific grants for historical preservation and tax credits for community development.
Recognizing the power of storytelling in fundraising, we've enlisted a professional fundraiser to help weave a compelling narrative around our mission.
What's next on our agenda?
This summer marks a pivotal moment as we expect to unveil our assessment—both physical and financial—setting the stage for the next phase of our journey: grant solicitations and fundraising.
Excitement is building, and we invite you to join us on this exhilarating ride. Be sure to visit our booth at the upcoming Sheffield Festival (June 27th – 29th) for a firsthand update on our progress. We can't wait to share our story with you!
As we embark on this adventure, we extend heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated Board of Directors: John Phillips, Connie Hahne, Skip Moore, Mary Ann Cernovich, Patti Watts, Sheila Yepsen, Curt Cunningham, and Casseelyn Shimmin. Their unwavering commitment propels us forward and inspires us every day.
Special thanks also go to our Founding Advisory members Rhonda Telfer and Elizabeth Pratt; our invaluable Construction Advisory, John Prince; our generous Pro Bono Legal Advisories, Eric May and Roger Bolin; our social media guru, Michael “Lew” Scott; and the talented event coordinator for the Sheffield Festival, Trent Devenney.
Together, let's breathe new life into the historic walls of Sheffield Village Hall and envision a future where it serves as a vibrant hub for community engagement and cultural events.
Let's write the next chapter of its storied history together!
